Tractoring for Women is a practical, one-day event.

You will learn to drive a tractor and undertake basic tasks safely and with confidence. This is not a boring, theory-based workshop – we will teach you everything you need to know and nothing you don’t.

To the extent that we can, we match you to tractors that are the same brand and horsepower as the tractors you have at home. Once you are confident driving a basic course, you’ll have the opportunity to swap hay forks for the bucket or attach a slasher. We then move on to picking up, stacking and unloading hay bales into feeders, picking up and offloading materials in a bucket and operating the slasher. This can be customised depending on what you want to learn.

With an emphasis on collaboration, we lead a variety of other exercises, including locating key parts of a tractor and what to look for, oil and diesel fill points, coupling/uncoupling hydraulic hoses, pre-start checks and identifying hazard areas.

Tractoring for Women is not an accredited training program; however, many elements of the training module Operate Tractors with attachments AHCMOM317 are included.

Tractoring for Women – Oakbank is a pilot program supported by Safework SA. The outcomes and feedback received will form the basis of future Tractoring for Women events across Australia.
